Terry West is the PIC32 Marketing Manager for Microchip's High Performance Microcontroller Division, where he drives the definition, strategy, and go-to-market activities for Microchip's 32-bit product line. Prior to joining Microchip, Terry spent 12 years at Intel Corporation where he was involved in sales, marketing, engineering and management, including managing the Intel® IXP4XX XScale® 32-bit embedded processor business unit. Terry also led the embedded development team at Research In Motion and developed early BlackBerry® technologies. His consulting company, The Terlesa Group, helps businesses grow through resource alignment and uncompromising focus on the customer experience. Terry received an Honors Bachelor of Mathematics in Computer Science with Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and has patents in wireless networking and silicon architecture. Rich's key responsibilities include setting the editorial direction for Embedded Systems Design magazine, the Embedded.com Web site, the global Embedded Systems Conferences, the RFID World Web site and conference, and all custom events. Rich also handles the editorial for Embedded Systems Design Europe. He's been in the Electronics OEM industry for over 20 years. Before taking on the top editorial role for the Embedded and RFID franchises, Rich oversaw CMP's DesignLine network of design engineering Web sites. Prior to that, he spent six years as the Editor-in-Chief of Portable Design magazine, where he drove the editorial to new heights while launching a magazine and technical conference in China. Preceding that, Rich was a Technology Editor with Electronic Design magazine. He holds a BSEE degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Scott B. Wing is the director of technical support for Digi-Key Corporation. He oversees over 100 technicians, engineers, and product managers, supporting the 332,000 customers and more than 380 suppliers that help make Digi-Key the dominant global electronics distributor it is today. Early in his career, he worked in the Quality Department at Northrop Grumman in Anaheim, CA, for Xerox in Minneapolis, and Weather Modification Inc. in Fargo, ND. After working for Weather Modification as a design engineer and project manager, he moved to Austin, TX, to be a Field Applications Engineer (FAE) for ION Associates, a manufacturer representative firm. While at ION, he was a rep FAE for Lattice Semiconductor, Texas Instruments, International Rectifier, LSI Logics, and others. He spent a considerable amount of time helping design engineers with their design projects, training technical sales people and distributor FAEs. He then went on to Symmetry Electronics as the director of technology where he hired and managed a team of FAEs, trained all sales people, was in charge of the technology road-map, and was the regional manager for the South Central Region. Scott graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in Electrical Engineering. ![]() |
